would you say that even the most basic low-brow rotgut bottom shelf ten bucks per bottle vodka will do, or should i aim higher into midrange stuff to decrease incidence of nasty aftertastes and trace impurities?

I go for the middle shelf stuff myself. When I was drinking $10/handle vodka, I was in the quantity over quality phase of my life. I’d like to think I’ve matured since then lol.
