I haven’t used gnome since I switched about a year ago.

Still love the gnome project and look forward to seeing how it evolves.

The one thing that KDE has over Gnome are functional colour themes. I really love to have a pink adwaita throughout all apps.

The other is giving a fuck about users and not only about their vision.

And I know it is their project and they can do whatever they want but it’s my opinion and I dont like it.

And much better gaming specs such as VRR, near complete HDR capabilities, … Multi monitors are better supported, more customization (albeit it’s harder to configure and get to the point you want sometimes).

It’s not just color variants of the main interface 😇

I’m thinking about switching as well for those reasons but I’m disappointed on the NixOS support of KDE. Gnome is configurable through dconf at least for a kinda NixOS way.

It’s looks nice. I think you will enjoy KDE, we don’t have to worry about extensions compatibility when upgrading to a new version of Gnome.

So far it has been nice. Though I have nearly broke the GUI because the customization is so deep. I enjoy that aspect but it can be frustrating and I can see that being bad for someone who doesn’t know what they are doing.

edit: also thanks for saying it looks nice I spent way too much time putting it together

I see a lot of desktop posts and everyone seems to include that shell output showing specs. What command is that?

Some kind of fetch utility. Usually neofetch.
