Yes but I think it implicitly acknowledges big changes need to happen (due to the irrational US) the only way to get out of our mess is to build in Canada east-west, and invest in Canada highspeed rail, housing, pipelines that don’t service the US. All are open to attacks from America, Canada has to do these things to survive the moment.
Well they will be proved wrong soon. Americans can’t find Canada on a map, you can’t expect them to comprehend that we have a completely different system of governance.
Hence why I’m on lemmy and deleted facebook on and xitter (long time ago) US owned news also has to go
This is gonna last longer then Trnup is in power. This is a real, tangible, long lasting shift in Canada-US relations. That’s not going to be fixed or restored whenever Trump is out of office. There will be a successor to this US isolationist ideology. The faster we decouple, disassociate and diversify from the US in every way, the better.
The firehose of illegal drugs and guns just pouring in to Canada from the US is a national security issue for Canada. We should and must act accordingly.
He only knows how to blame others and can dish it out but. He can’t take it though, just like every bully that ever existed. He can call our PM governor and call into question our border and our sovereignty with the largest platform on earth but he can’t face the reality that they harm us with their guns and drugs and they can’t handle that our PM called him by his name, and not his honorary title. The US is a craven, pathetic, fash country.
Oh we’re done with them jerking us around. Today Mango Mao announced new tarrifs but I’m happy about them because they’re on repulsive American milk. The US allows hormones and anti-biotic that Canadian milk does not allow. I don’t want their junk milk products at all. Tarrif that shit away.
It is deadly serious. Anyone who “doesn’t care” or “doesn’t pay attention to politics” is going to find out the hard way. We must shift away from the US in every respect as soon and as thoroughly as possible. Launch a capital campaign of building out east-west, highspeed rail across OUR country (not through theirs and I know that will be pricy but we have no choice, imagine the jobs a huge project like that would create). Reduce and remove interprovincial trade barriers, enable Canadians to be able to work anywhere in Canada (like the EU but just in our country), we have to build up our military - no question, we are being threatened with invasion, this has to happen yesterday, solidify our trade partnerships with anyone but the US, we need east-west pipelines too.
