Epiphanic Synchronicity
@gelberhut @biscotty @obsidianmd I agree with gelberhut. Folders are to organization as plaintext is to data, and are one of the keys to a files-first, future-proofing approach. #Obsidian could break and refuse to open, and I could still navigate my notes in any file manager and open and use them in any text or #markdown editor. That’s going to be a lot harder to do if you’ve dumped all of your thousands or tens of thousands of notes in root. #PKM
@tamowafy @gelberhut @effingjoe AFAIK you need to be working in a for-profit organization with 2 or more employees to need a commercial license for #Obsidian.
@ellane @obsidianmd @drafts I haven’t had any issues and I’ve been using Sync for two years. But the best place to ask is the Obsidian Sync channel on the Discord. You have a high chance of getting a response directly from Licat or another dev there. You can grab an invitation here: https://obsidian.md/community
@nightscout @laroquephoto At $50, the mobile version of iA Writer has become way overpriced, especially if you’re only going to use it on an iPhone. Imo 1Writer is pretty much equally good (I own both) and last I looked it only costs $5. Fwiw, you can also sign into Dropbox with it, which you can’t do with iA Writer.
