And every purchaser shall get what they deserve.
Most places in the US are in addition to the bill, it’s just that many people who don’t carry cash, so you can add it to your debit/credit on a separate line, but leaving cash is always an option. Some places that deal with a lot of non-tippers have mandatory gratuity or make it mandatory for groups above a certain size. Either way, I think it’s bullshit that the employees’ wages are not accounted for in menu pricing, and I’m expected to figure it out.
I’m mixed race in the US. My maternal grandmother’s parents emigrated to the US from Wales after the First World War. It never occurred to me until reading this article, that’s why we call my grandmother on that side “nain.”
Looked up him and his party. Glad to see some folks in Vancouver standing up to this ABC nonsense, but it’s sad they are able to get a majority.
Ya’ll tip over there? I thought the US was the only place with that assbackward practice.
I see many folks here mentioning Dave Chapelle as a right-wing comedian, which is a joke in itself. Dave Chapelles’ personal politics and much of the politics mentioned in his stand-up are not right-wing. He has a blend of center right/center left beliefs and supports progressive candidates. I understand there is controversy with his LGBTQ+ material and commentary, but that does not make all of his politics right-wing. This strikes me as coming from people who have little exposure to the black American community, where these attitudes are prevalent regardless of the individuals’ other politics. It is slowly improving, but it isn’t great. Frankly, I don’t know why it is he continues to antagonize and harp on this for hours at a time. It is very strange and I know he’s capable of much funnier material.
