Nobody likes a sucker, especially the kind that fall for fruit tarts like you. I knew there was trouble. I could smell it on the hot evening breeze. Fortunately for me, trouble is my favorite thing… Because I’m Joe Milkshake. I kicked down the door with one swift, decisive motion.

Hm? Schonmal den alternativen Client droid-ify getestet? Da gibts was in den Settings fürs auto-updaten von Apps. Hab ich selbst aber noch nicht probiert obs funktioniert, hab kein Root und konnte es zumindest anschalten.

So, wait, for usenet you don’t need a vpn? Sorry if this a somewhat naive question, usenet is just such a foggy concept for me tht I have no idea how it works.

Thanks for elaborating!

If you don’t mind I have a follow up question. Why would a usenet provider protect users who clearly store illegal files on their servers, when ISPs are easily ratting out their customers?

One thing I agree is that address lookup is terrible. There are times where I cannot find a place on Osmand that I check in google maps where it is, then go Osmand and move the view to the same location myself. Not practical.

But: routing to wrong location. Almost never, for me it works perfectly. A few versions ago the announcement to take a turn would come a bit late, might have been my phone, no idea. Works fine now. The only problem are road works in the city, Osm is not very current and it might route you wrong then, yeah.

Same for me, switched from Total Commander, since Material Files is a bit more comfortable to use. For some reason I do not get the same upload speeds to my home server though, and I cannot figure out why.

That said Total Commander sometimes lost connection and I had to start over, so I am ok with slower upload if its more consistent.

Yes, that a thousand times. Scientists can almost never say something is 100% one way or the other. It is always down to a few percent points of error. But unfortunately that will always bring up people like this guy.

Of course not. Do they have a reason to?

I am not sure I agree. It does not need paragraphs of explanations but something that says the server you sign up for decides what you can see, should still be mentioned.

I have signed up for multiple servers in the beginning and found quite big differences in what I could see because of what was already blocked. Or servers that have not federated with each other yet. Then I stuck with lemmy.fmhy.ml and well, I guess you know the story.

So I think it definitely should mention server choice may influence content and one should try out several in the beginning to see whats best for yourself.
