I enjoy everything about Philly and I also enjoy picking up small communities in need of help. Because of those 2 things, I would like to request !sixers@lemmy.world . I mod communities for 2 of the 3 other major Philly sports teams (Sports I actually like). It appears that since u/Hurts hasn’t been active in a long time, they have been removed as a mod in their old communities.

I admit I’ve never been super into basketball (I think I’ve been to 2 Sixers games in my entire life, maybe 3), but I know a bit about the team and have heard all about the trades lately. Am I the best candidate for modding this community? Probably only until someone who is really into basketball comes along. Still, it would be nice to have other Philly-themed communities around. And who knows, maybe this will be the push I need to follow more Philly sports teams.

I hope they approve this. I’m not a philly fan, but I love the idea of all sports communities being more active. It only helps bring people in, and puts eyes on the platform as a whole.

Yeah, I had a similar logic. I also think it might scare people away if they see no activity in months

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people on Lemmy browsing all that downvote any Sports content. Makes it hard to establish a thriving community.

This kills me. Just block the communities and move on! You don’t need to downvote it

Or you could just block anyone who looks at you wrong.
