Biscoff has succeeded in perfectly encapsulating the taste of disappointment. They’re not vile. If they were, that would be easy to dismiss them. Its like they set out to create a mediocre cookie, and then added one extra ingredient to make them taste “off” no matter how fresh or stale they are. If you’re hungry enough, you’ll eat them, but you’ll be thinking about any other cookie you could be eating instead and wishing you had those. When served on airplanes (which is the only place I encounter them) knowing you’re in a metal tube tens of thousands of feet off the ground, you know that you’re not getting anything better for quite awhile. I suppose they’d be the perfect cookie to have in your house if you’re dieting because unseasoned steamed vegetables would be more desirable. With zero natural appeal they technically check the box of a “cookie”, but in visual and taste is a closer approximation of corrugated cardboard.

In that way they have achieved perfection.

That might offend me, but I know what cookies you like so I already have a good barometer of your judgement.
