I think RDJ comes across as a rebel bad boy, but Doom should be a more traditional honorable gentleman. In another time, Doom would be the hero.

Maybe they’re going for something similar to RDJ’s Sherlock Holmes. A veneer of propriety over a ruthless and savage intelligence.
