The paradox of tolerance is only “paradox” if you start with the ridiculous premise that universe tolerance is good.

It’s not. That premise is only used in college courses on the day this “paradox” is introduced.

The paradox of tolerance is used to try and nullify the entire concept of tolerance, as a way of giving people license to be evil.

The actual theory of tolerance is much more nuanced than that. There are certain things which are chosen to be tolerated by society, and that set of things isn’t structured in a way that gives rise to this paradox.

Paradox of Tolerance is taught as a way to destabilize that more nuanced and functional theory of tolerance, to provide cover for people who want to overturn the old, functional, hard-won values of freedom.
