Yep. My folks are still processing the concept of an employer saying “nah, I’m good.”
I forgot where, but there was a second thought video that explained that despite what numbers claim, there is simply more unemployed and underemployed people than jobs.
Because Capitalism depends on a labor surplus. It’s easy to pay people for less than they’re worth when you have an army of potential scabs at your disposal.
