That is one of the stupidest designs I have seen.

Not only does the solar panels angle mostly away from the sun, they will also be 30% covered by the rider’s body.

The cargo capacity is tiny since you are limited by the rider’s anatomy and can’t carry oversized cargo.

There are no pedals so the only power used to move it comes from batteries which are taking up space and weight, reducing the capacity/range even further.

This is far, far better cargo bike:

Also those solar panels are gonna get hot AF in the summer.

I don’t think they’re for charging while you sit on it. They’re for charging while the thing is parked. You may or may not be able to park them sunward. Can’t see if they can be tilted up in addition to that.

Doesn’t change the fact that half the solar panel will be anged away from the sun at any one point.

And the award for the most ridiculous product design goes to…

Just had the same feeling about this “thing” as you had. Seriously, did someone just prompt an AI with “solar bike”, went with the first generated image and called it product development done?

It’s a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don’t be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.
