Hell honestly, you might not need something as profound as a soul to observe a replicant drift over time throughout a lineage. No matter how identical they are, 2 clones will have different life experiences ranging from things as minor as seeing events from 2 physically different locations in time or space up to something as major as experiencing important life events differently.
