The world’s top chess federation has ruled that transgender women cannot compete in its official events for females until an assessment of gender change is made by its officials.

Why would that be my suggestion. My suggestion is you lot need to learn how to fucking read statistics lol. I don’t give a fuck about chess, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that women are not worse at chess because they are women. The only thing the chess numbers prove is that men play chess at a professional/competitive level at much higher rates than women.

I understand statistics just fine. Fuck you for “you lot”.

I was asking you a question because I was genuinely curious, but you can fuck right off with that attidute.

You’re just virtue signalling without giving any suggestions on how to improve the situation.

Don’t bother replying, asshat.

If calling out dumb cunts who think that there is a physiological aspect to chess in which sex is the deciding factor in success is virtue signaling then yep, that’s me. I don’t have any suggestions for dismantling the entire patriarchy at the moment, you’ll have to forgive me.

I don’t give a fuck about your curious attitude, clearly.

You assume everyone’s an idiot like you.

In reality, you’re just a loudmouth parrot who never had an original thought in their head.

Stop putting words in other people’s mouths and think for ar least a second. Engage the third braincel.

Of course women should compete with men. Of course trans women should be able compete with other women. But that doesn’t mean they should be starved from prizes for a generation or longer, just because you’ve read a cool post on tumblr that said “abolish 👏 the 👏 patriarchy 👏”

Classic keyboard activists with no audience, just yelling random shit they’ve read with their ears closed. Pretty much a shittier version of already shitty ChatGPT.

Your replies aren’t worth the battery charge I’m spending to read them.

A community for discussing events around the World

Rules:

  • Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:

    • Post news articles only
    • Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
    • Title must match the article headline
    • Not United States Internal News
    • Recent (Past 30 Days)
    • Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
  • Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think “Is this fair use?”, it probably isn’t. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.

  • Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.

  • Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.

  • Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19

  • Rule 5: Keep it civil. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.

Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to “Mom! He’s bugging me!” and “I’m not touching you!” Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

  • Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.

  • Rule 7: We didn’t USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you’re posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
