ππππ Itβs Friday!!! ππππ
The topic of this discussion is: anything.
Anything exciting going on in your life? Things got you down? Did you try a new recipe that youβd like to share? etc.
Congrats! Since pumpkin pie isnβt really a thing over here, I never had any. But I can see how yours won if the other is just βmore sweet, less spiceβ - if I want to enjoy a pumpkin soup, I seriously donβt look at canned options anymore. Most of them just put an emphasis on the sweet parts of pumpkins and add lots of unhealthy sugar to it. Turns out if I cook it with my parents and we add lots of different spices (and fresh garlic), the end result is at least ten times better π
Yeah, it was sort of surprising because each pie gets 1.5 cups of brown sugarβ¦ so mine wasnβt not sweet.
I think itβs not the amount of sugar that yields good results, but the amount of spices. Combined with the sweetness, they are what really satisfies our taste buds. Itβs the same with german lebkuchen (gingerbread cake). Get a generic, cheap store-brand and they are just really sweet little nothings. Buy them from a good bakery shop or artisan and youβll have this great, delicious taste.
