The youtube comments can be a very toxic place but if you know where to look there are also very wholesome communities.

Most science youtubers have pretty chill comment sections. Same with makers, coffeetubers etc.
Gaming and influencer comments tend to be a shitshow. Obviously.

This is true, Scimandan has a pretty chill community. Though it gets attacked by flat earthers a lot.
