LTT needs Emily back in front of the camera to provide a proper Linux perspective.

No, I knew she had stopped being on-camera and switched to being a writer only (I assumed temporarily until she felt comfortable/confident post-transition), but I had no idea that she more recently quit LTT entirely. @Player2โ€™s comment was news to me!

Did she mention why? I was expecting her to start doing videos again at some pointโ€ฆ

I miss Emily. She was amazing.

I pretty much stopped watching after Emily stopped being on camera and unsubbed entirely after the harassment and overworking allegations came out.

And Iโ€™m not even a Linux person 99% of the time! I do run a home server, but my daily driver is windows. Emily was just one of the only people on the channel that not only seemed to know exactly what she was talking about, but also didnโ€™t behave like a total tech dude bro the entire time

Needed to search who Emily is. I was totally out of the loop.

Yeah she was the best.

Sorry about that. I donโ€™t know the right way to reference a trans person who was famous under their former identity but not their real one.

Me neither, I think the best approach is to use the new identity always, if the person is interested they can search for it.

People probably know Anthony. They are the same person.

I know people know โ€œAnthony;โ€ I was just uncertain of the appropriateness of mentioning that name.

Also, LOL at this comment on the video:

Oh thank god. I thought you were going to say you started using Windows.

1. Follow the site-wide rules
2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack users for any reason. This includes using blanket terms, like โ€œevery user of thingโ€.
  • Donโ€™t get baited into back-and-forth insults. We are not animals.
  • Leave remarks of โ€œpeasantryโ€ to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
  • Bigotry will not be tolerated.
  • These rules are somewhat loosened when the subject is a public figure. Still, do not attack their person or incite harrassment.
3. Post Linux-related content
  • Including Unix and BSD.
  • Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of sudo in Windows.
  • No porn. Even if you watch it on a Linux machine.
4. No recent reposts
  • Everybody uses Arch btw, canโ€™t quit Vim, <loves/tolerates/hates> systemd, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.
