I think fashion will change to fit the technology, honestly. Itβs happened before with smartwatches (somewhere down the line we decided a square black βmirrorβ on the wrist actually looks pretty darned cool if you design it right).
Look at cyberpunk for examples. In general their design team did really, really well, and while many wouldnβt adopt the chunkier bits, Iβd certainly opt for that style.
For a real life example, we have the Hyperion Thinview (an fpv headset) that shows practicality for that form factor. Not the best, but throw in Meta levels of screen density and high-tech optics and yeah I think itβs possible in that thin compact design.
