How is Sync developed?

Sync isn’t Open Source. So I’m wondering where do the development resources that go into Sync come from?

Yes, but I’m assuming that dev needs food. How does Sync turn into food?

There’s a monthly/yearly paid version with some extra features for those who want to support the dev, and also a one time ad-free purchase option.
