I tend to noodle around and play metal, but I want to find a guitar that has some versatility. I’d just buy a Jackson otherwise.
Full disclosure I’m 36 and haven’t played since I was a teenager. However, my friend let me borrow his Fender resonator acoustic recently and I reallllllllly want to get an electric now.
As looking at the Yamaha Pacifica but it seems like the tone might not be what I’m looking for. I do however love the look of the guitar.
Haha, I’m in a very similar situation. Picked up my old Ibanez for the first time in a long while and now that I’m in my 30s I’m looking for an upgrade. Guitars I’ve been looking at, mostly, are the Ibanez RGA-42FM, and the LTD SN-200HT and at a higher step, the LTD H-200FM. They’re all very similar guitars to what I’m personally looking for, but they might help you get some ideas.
I’m sick of having to fiddle with the Floyd Rose on my current guitar, and I don’t really want another Superstrat, I never use the middle pickup ever. So I went straight into these fixed bridge double humbucker guitars, but with coil splits (all 3 of them have it) for versatility.
I’m also looking into Telecaster-like models, and these are almost always pretty good across brands, and you can still play metal on them even with single coils.
