Daily struggle session slop here.

Do you pee in the shower? Do you support this inalienable right open to all humanity? Or are you like my fascist partner who says it’s not okay and “childish.” As a communist, anyone who would be upset at peeing in the shower should be thrown in jail along with people who tailgate when I’m already going 5 over.

Just to throw a bone to the ladies and other people who suck dick (literally not metaphorically), you should also wipe your penis after you pee. Even if you think you got it all out you should still wipe. However, this is intersectionality. Obviously the biggest oppression is against shower-pee-pee people but pee-pee wipers can still unite with us as we apply dialectics to hygiene.

I don’t think it’s “childish”, I think it’s gross and unhygienic, especially as someone who has to clean the shower/bathtub.

How is it unhygienic if it all gets washed down the drain?

If it “all” got washed down the drain, it would be unnecessary to clean showers (or sinks or toilets, for that matter).

I mean there are parts of toilets that don’t get rinsed with water, as there are in showers but that’s mostly the sides, walls, and hardware. Also we shit in toilets and that’s a different ballgame lol. I guess my thought, too, is how much does it differ from the dirt, sweat, oils and grime that accumulates in the shower?

I swear I’m not trying to turn it into an argument/struggle sesh I’m just curious lol

I’ve done contamination experiments in bathrooms and toilet bowls are always the cleanest parts of the bathroom.

Yup, the cleaning bit is pretty relevant here. I have raised kids who tend to piss in the shower and I can tell you that being the one who cleans the shower floor sink where all the hairs and gunk is stuck at least feels a lot less nasty if you implement a strick no pissing in the shower policy. I don’t even care if its fully rinsed away or stays there, if I am the one who has to put their hands into that crap, don’t make it worse by pissing in there.

Everyone who cleans their own showers can do whatever they want.

It also stinks. As a person with a pretty sensitive sense of smell I can absolutely tell when someone has taken a piss in the shower. Same goes for the toilet if that someone has had bad aim. It stinks when wet, but it stinks also when it dries.

So in my household everyone takes a piss sitting down on the toilet regardless of personal plumbing as long as I am the one who cleans it all.

In addition to this, here is my scientific breakdown of the amount of water used during pissing in the shower versus in the toilet.

I have been engaged in water saving measures like a good little neoliberal subject and my current long hair basic shower uses about 50 litres of water, no pissing. But in the shower it is almost 1/3 or half warm water which consumes a lot of energy.

One flush on the piss setting side of the toilet is in my understanding about 3l of water, all cold.

So, if we assume pissing takes 20 seconds on average (yes I googled this: https://www.sharp.com/health-news/how-long-should-it-take-to-pee) and I read a shower uses on average 15l of water/minute then 20 seconds in the shower is 5 liters of water.

Therefore, pissing in the shower does not save water unless you piss and wash at the same time. In which case you probably can’t aim much.

You don’t need to have the water running to urinate, it just shouldn’t be done at the end of the shower.

Aim at what?
