Don’t forget to clear your Liftoff cache. Liftoff currently doesn not have a auto clear cache feature.
For those who don’t know how, Android instructions are below
- Long hold the Liftoff icon and select App Info
- Select Storage and Cache
- Press Clear Cache

I have Android 7, which doesn’t have this feature … do I need to clear the cache too? If so, does that mean I have to reinstall the app?

If you go into settings->applications->liftoff you should see it in there. Cache clearing has been around as long as I can remember

Cache clearing was a thing in 7
Settings -> Apps -> LiftOff -> Storage -> clear cache.
