The developers of hit PS5 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 say Miles Morales is the “main” Spider-Man from now on, which has caused some fans to speculate about what Insomniac may do with the inevitable Spider-Man 3.

Nobody is saying they can’t create new characters, why change already established ones? Right, because nobody would give a shit about a new character

They aren’t changing Peter Parker, they’re just focusing on Miles. Tf are you talking about?

You do realize Peter Parker and Miles Morales are different people, right? So that really just leaves you with the argument that you’re mad because the focus has been shifted to a black character.

Next you’ll tell me you’re mad that Gwen Stacy has blonde hair lmao.

Why are you playing dumb? That’s how franchises work, thats how comics work, they switch actors and characters all the time. You pissed at Dr. Who? What about Batman? Some of those movies completely rework the character/backstory.

This happens all. the. time. without much worry at all. The only difference this time is that a minority group is getting the spotlight for like five fucking minutes while a bunch of idiots whine about it.

What about Batman? He was rebooted many times but he was always Bruce Wayne? Same as Superman and Spider-man? James Bond was also rebooted many times but he was always the same James Bond. What are you talking about? Making stuff up … You making me look bad cause minorities and all that shit when I never said I had the problem with Miles being black. I would also have a problem if they replaced Peter with another white guy because the color of the skin is not relevant, it’s that Spider-man will always be Peter Parker and that’s it. Go make Miles an original superhero and I would love him the same as Peter …

Bucky Barnes, Danielle Cage, Sam Wilson, Misty Knight, John Walker, Peggy Carter,

I feel like that’s good enough. You think you got me with 007, but that’s based off of novels and not comics/sci-fi. And either way, clearly you’re ignorant to how fictional media functions, specifically relating to comic super-heroes.

You forgot the biggest change - Azrael as Batman during Knightfall. That went for quite a while.

$50 says he doesn’t respond to this comment where he gets absolutely fuckin owned. Was gonna also mention The Flash, Green Lantern, Aqua Man, Dr. Fate, etc etc etc. It’s reiterated so many times in comics that many of these hero names are mantles to be worn for a time and passed on.

No. He was dead numerous times and other people took up the mantle. Most notable Dick Grayson.

I don’t know how it is in the games, but in the comics he was originally someone who lived in the same world as the old Spider-Man and took up the mantle. Peter Parker wasn’t replaced as a character, he was just dead.

Also, you know what’s really fucked up? Spider Man is American by cannon. Can you fucking believe they used an English actor for the current franchise?

WHO WILL PROTECT THE CANNON?!
