I’m hoping they prove me wrong on this one but I’m not holding my breath. Tron could be just the movie to speak to the implications of AI in the real world, especially these days. But if it’s helmed by the same guy that gave us the last Pirates movie I’m sure it’ll be way more spectacle than substance. I feel like Legacy was at least a balance between spectacle and putting the story in a larger direction. I’ll still watch it eventually but I’m not rushing out for it.

This guy has made a career out of the line “Let’s just get some director and make another movie out of one of our IPs that probably only has one movie left in it anyways” for Disney. This is Disney killing Tron.
