Here’s an index of European noble houses, which includes knights alongside other members of the nobility.

Neat! How many of those are women in medieval armor?

Just, you know, women were not eligible for knighthood throughout medieval times.

Is this you arguing that female knights were as common as male knights? I’m just checking what we’re arguing here exactly.

If so, how many female warriors at all took part in:

A) The Napoleonic wars

B) Alexander the Great’s conquest

C) The Battle of Kadesh

Are we arguing that women were always as violent as men and were never excluded or subsumed in society since the dawn of literally “man”? Is that what we’re doing?

Imagine being this offended by a drawing of a woman in historically accurate armor

… The fuck?

You seem really offended that women were underrepresented in historical conflicts. You’re going to have a hard time finding anyone who says otherwise.

What I am saying is that women have worn armor (even for non-ceremonial purposes) at a few points in history.

At the end of the day, you’re the one getting butthurt about a comic on the internet.

Yes, I am offended that more women were not knighted and partook in the most violent battles in history!

Now what I am saying, from start to finish= I made a stupid joke, albeit historically correct, that the one other improbable thing about the image, apart from the naiads, was that there is a woman in armor.

That is it. Let me help you:

Descriptive statement = the sky is blue

Prescriptive statement = blue is ugly

See, I described something, stated a fact, and you are the one who took offense, you and presumably most other women here, because all you ever hear is the word “woman” and regardless what one says you’re like a kerberos gatekeeper growling at it because you’re just so ready to fight inequality at every turn, to the point where you can’t allow facts to stand on their own.

Are you equally offended by these statements:

A) Men are on average taller than women

B) Women on average live longer than men

C) Men are more violent than women. On average.

?

That’s what makes this funny to me, the fact how that you are so attached to labels that you will never accept any reality contrary to it.

Now if you just calm down, we can discuss it if you would like. Would you? Or are arbitrary judgments more your thing?
