everything about modern life is murder. meat isnât special in that regard.
the meat industry kills animals for consumption and requires more land than a crop producing farm alone would. emissions from those farms are killing the environment and would be partially responsible for the death of humanity within the next 200 years. However, they are not the only thing which is murdering our planet. We can and should move to a less meat centric diet, sure. but thatâs not everything we need to do in order to prevent the murder of humanity. Everything modern life touches is murder. The means of transportation we take to go to work, the electricity we consume, the clothes we wear, the items we consume all contribute to our own demise. And companies will try to greenwash themselves, sellinrg things with ânatural ingredientsâ, being âcarbon neutralâ or â100% recycledâ. But in fact, they are just as bad or worse than their competitors, and use their eco-friendly marketing to get you to buy their products, often at a steep markup, for no tangible difference in what they are actually doing for the planet.
you can say that Iâm pathetic. sure, I am. But youâre stuck in the same consumeristic capitalist hellscape I am.
Maybe you should make statements a little less facile than âmeat is murderâ when every dollar you spend is another nail in our communal coffin.
