I don’t know if this is just a placebo effect, but it feels like there’s a lot more socialization and faster upvotes in the past hour Sync was released.

The app is great, just like it was on Reddit. But I signed up yesterday for Lemmy and let’s just say it’s going to be a while before I can ditch Reddit. There’s hardly anything on Lemmy in the way of my interests, and the communities seem confusing and fragmented. I’ll check in every few months, but as long as Sync still works for Reddit I won’t be moving over any time soon.

Oh, I thought 3rd party apps stopped working on Reddit? Or is Sync different?

SFW Reddit content still works with 3rd party apps for mods. Everyone can create a subreddit so it’s a pretty big loophole.

Sync doesn’t still work for Reddit. That’s the problem and is why Reddit is now dead to many of us.

You can mod sync for reddit so it does work.

Why not help build it though? It’s all community driven and unlike Reddit, Lemmy is much better at surfacing small communities and new posts. You’d be surprised how quickly you can get replies/comments.

Honestly, I’m more of an observer. I sometimes comment but almost never post. I don’t have the time or inclination to do more.
