“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1

It’s basically a cognitive dissonance conference.

It’s basically a cognitive dissonance conference.

You have also managed to successfully describe attending religious services.

They’ll believe whatever suits them to prop up their delusional world view. And they’ll refuse to acknowledge any facts that contradict it.

They believe whatever fox “news” tells them to. They don’t have their own world view, just the view they’re told to have.

Can you actually find anyone who believes it literally? Honest question. I just watched the video, and it seems to me that he is saying it figuratively and not literally.

Coach is saying that these people actually believe that he has been “defending religion”, not that they believe that he has literal wounds all over his body from it.

You seem to be the one taking things a bit too literally.

Truthfully, I believe there are “fine [yet moronic] people on both sides” of this thing. Religions seem to serve both hypocrites and idiots alike.

His quote will sell lots of T-shirts, either way.

I don’t think anyone is saying he has literal wounds from defending religion.

I agree, including Trump.

But this thread is full of people saying that they think he meant it literally and people believe it literally. And I think, although I could be wrong, that is what the top level commenter is getting at.
