I’m seriously ashamed of my oil-horny home country. I try arguing against more petroleum extraction whenever it’s brought up, but it’s difficult when people are convinced that their welfare and quality of life is directly proportional to the amount of carbon we pull out of the ground.

The sentiment is changing, but far too slowly
