This is one of those games that kept getting better. I picked it up in 2016 and it was a blast and perfectly playable, and I came back to nearly every major alpha update for a fresh playthrough. The 1.0 basically fixed almost all my complaints about the game by making crafting relevant again, and making armor matter. Still could use a polishing pass, but the game is fantastic and I highly recommend it if you like survival crafters.

And yet the netcode still sucks balls, to the point where the game becomes unplayable with 3+ people unless you put the time in to make a dedicated server for it.

There were also some very baffling decisions made for 1.0, like how there is now armor with a skill point chance on level up, apparently. Not sure how that one works in practice, but it doesn’t sound like a well thought-out update.

Simultaneously one of the jankiest, yet most fun games I’ve ever played and I’ve been playing it since pre-alpha. Idk how they did it but got it is so good/bad
