I’ve recently started using a self hosted SearXNG instance but I’m still using the search engines enabled by default (google, duckduckgo and qwant). What search engines do you have enabled or which ones do you feel you’ve gotten the best results with?

Whoogle. It’s treated me well enough so far.

Same, run my own instance and only rarely need to go to Google for localized results.

Right now, Google, DDG, and Bing. That combo is “good enough”. I also have random issues with other ones timing out or other errors.

Don’t DDG and Bing have basically the same results or has that changed?

I honestly don’t recall. I’ve used Searx-NG for a few years now and only notice that there’s a lot of overlap in the results among all 3 I have enabled.

Surprised so few people use Yacy.

I know what it is but I thought its results weren’t that good. I haven’t actually used it myself but that’s what I heard.
