No stuttering for me on Linux… Runs as good as it ever has but the visuals are even that much better due to the engine upgrades. Not a fan of the new UI, but the old UI was clunky too, so I can’t really say it’s even a step backwards.

Pretty much exactly my experience and takeaway on both Windows and Linux.

It’s definitely not the smoothest launch… But the review bomb has felt a bit undeserved.

The review bomb was really stupid. There are multiple channels for feedback and anyone who’s been around long enough knows the Hunt devs do listen to the community (perhaps too much sometimes)

Review bombing should be a last resort and all it’s done here is probably put a bunch of prospective new players off trying the game during the free weekend

Same. I had to lower some settings to get the same performance as the old engine. I imagine there will be room for optimisation on the new map/engine

Are you using proton experimental?

Proton experimental and (at least as of yesterday) I had to opt into bleeding edge beta as well or I’d just get black screen at launch.

The new UI is not great but neither was the old one.

The devs put out a video to address the complaints https://youtu.be/ovMwwccxMLM?feature=shared

The updates to the game itself in terms of graphical fidelity, audio and the new map are incredible but that’s just been ignored by the majority of the horde who are tunnelling on “UI bad”

On W11, every time I get shot, my game freezes and stutters for about 0.5 second. Unplayable until fixed. A friend I play with has his FPS tank into the ~30s at the worst possible times, and then the mouse and crosshair feel disconnected, so also unplayable for him. We both have up to date everything.

I don’t understand why they don’t test these things and get feedback before the launch. A new user interface that is much worse than the old one should be easy to test and get feedback on by the community.

Having played it, I’m basically 100% convinced it was designed for consoles. I’d hope there’s no way internally someone on the PC side didn’t protest the new UI, and was overruled.

Had to enable bleeding edge proton experimental otherwise it would just black screen, then me and my friends couldn’t join each other until we each restarted.
