Tbh both. I gather from posts around the issue that Denuvo sucks ass / is not that popular. So now I wonder, why choose to include something that is apparently unpopular and why do people think it is dumb to include.

Its because civ is mostly played as a solo experience so deactivating the online would still make the game functional and keep the main point of attraction.

According to the Steam store page, there’s a Linux build planned. It will be interesting to see if that has any DRM.
