The game is Sea of Thieves. Me and a friend did a Skeleton Camp, and after getting the treasure from the room in the screenshot above (worth 20k), we were attacked by these guys who rammed us. They sank our ship before we could get back on, so i spawned the ship back in, raced to pick up my friend. Then i sailed past the outpost, my friend jumped off to sell it while i sailed away as a distraction. Then once all our stuff was sold we hit anchor and attacked them. For a galleon manned by 2 guys, i think we did really well. We still lost but they took on a ton of water and after they sank our ship we went for the old bucket strategy and started filling it with water. It was a lot of fun. Whoever that crew was i owe them thanks for giving us an adventure.

Many thanks. This is one of the post series I’m enjoying following the most on Lemmy right now.

I’m missing the part where you got your loot back.

Also, if you’re a 2 man galleon, that’s on you lol.

Oh. No. My bad. I was still running off the exhilaration of the escape. We never lost the loot. My partner hid with it on the island in a pile of barrels using a Emote that puts him in a barrel (while they were sinking our ship), then I swung by and picked him up with the loot and we managed to sell it while they were chasing our asses by using me as the distraction.

Ohh right, you never put the loot on your ship. That makes sense

Yeah. I think this is structure is relatively new. I don’t remember seeing anything like it before. It’s possible that I just missed it though.

For the most part I would say so, but there are also things more things on the ocean to do. There are also the PoTC and Monkey Island quests, which are much more Story Driven Quests (Idk how new they are though so you may have already played them)

SoT is the only game I find a particular satisfaction with running a script once asshats get punchy. I’m fine just fishing or plinkin’ around with the hang, but when dealing with squeakers, they all go down to Davey Jones asap until they rage quit. Fuckem.

Cheating in a multiplayer game is a shitty move, regardless of motivation.

They released safer seas (pvp-less servers) if you don’t want to be hassled.

If child voices bug you (squeakers), go to the options, mute voice chat from non-crewmates. Turn on auto captions for voice chat if you’re worried about missing something or them sneaking up on you because you can’t hear them.

I guess I kind of enjoy the challenge when other players get aggressive. I’ll never instigate combat, but if someone else does I have a lot of fun fighting back. It’s kind of thrilling and fun for me.

I don’t disagree with that basic sentiment, but it’s the griefers and whiners that get pissy when they FAFO. Downvote all you want, fellas; the fact remains: if you’re being a dick, no one cares if you get your ass handed to you. “Cheating” or not.
