Itโs still pretty useful to do simple math in your head. For example chicken adding a few numbers together or multiplying something. In general stuff that would take longer to type in than just calculating yourself.
If itโs not important enough to take a few seconds to a minute typing it, itโs not important enough to use a skill thatโs severely atrophied from decades of intentional disuse ๐คท

So I do that.
Personally I even do that digitally. Tablets are basicly a limitless piece of paper.
I tried that, but I much prefer the haptics of real paper and writing with an actual pen. Also, I really like the look of ink on paper. Of course, there are still cases when a tablet is just the best. For example, when annotating PDFs.
Yes this is also shown to be the case in scientific studies. Something something reinforcing memories by activating several parts of the brain at once. Yes Iโm too lazy to actually find one and link it but Iโve come across it several times

Yes, but for my own notes itโs not a problem if the handwriting is ugly. I still like to write by hand, even if my handwriting looks pretty messy.
It definitely was not a waste of time! Grab a cheap fountain pen and give yourself a new hobby :)
