It supports more devices than GrapheneOS i.e. nonpixels. That is where I would totally use it.

my Pixel 4a still gets GrapheneOS updates, so that is a tie.

GrapheneOS is great at security, privacy but also reliability and good detection and de-hardening mechanisms. Like, if I want I can disable most of it and even run full Google Apps.

DivestOS has sandboxed microG though, which sounds interesting. Would love to use UnifiedNLP, as an avid contributor to OpenCellID through “TowerCollector”. I still just use A-GPS which sucks battery like hot chocolate. Like, 1h navigation and my device is empty.

Stock Android and iOS have location always enabled and still manage over a day battery life!

The real solution would be a UnifiedNLP app, running without user privileges. But that doesnt exist, and sounds a bit complex to me.

It’s very loosely based on LineageOS, which is where all it’s device support comes from.

Would love to use UnifiedNLP

I’VE ISSUED A CORRECTION, SEE BELOW Unfortunately, UnifiedNLP is not supported. Quoting from their FAQ Page: Network (cell tower, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth beacon) based location providers such as Google Play Services, Qualcomm IZat, and microG/UnifiedNlp are not supported.

Sorry to break the news to you :(

EDIT: IT MIGHT BE SUPPORTED, see their Merged WiFi UnifiedLP Backend

I’m not sure I would trust any developer that was involved with that download page. Who decided to sort by an arbitrary string assigned to a build? Might as well sort by hash.

Could you mean by device codename?

Which is an arbitrary string, yes.

I disagree, while the device codename itself is arbitrary, it’s not arbitrary on the download page. It’s common to identify devices by codename when naming custom roms.

How is it to you? Any notable issues? Also, are the Divest apps available in their F-droid repository pre-installed as system apps? Are the AOSP apps modified any? Thanks!

One notable bug I’ve had was being unable to install a specific bundled APK, though I think that’s my fault for not using current vendor firmware.

Hypatia is a virus scanning app but can be installed on other android devices.

Mull is their internet browser, works well even with aggressive privacy settings.

The ROM is heavily modified, and mostly uses the fossify brand apps (formerly Simply).

Divest serves a very specific purpose. It’s not designed to be rooted.

Hope this helps.
