This is almost fucking everyone in the US. Some are worse than others, but even the most well-meaning people struggle to make sense of everything. Very few people have the time, energy, and skills to dissect media in such a way as to even glimpse reality. And I mean this about everyone, even people you’d think should know better due to their position in the system.

I’ve spent decades trying to figure out a way to get people to understand how often they are lied to and still can’t come up with anything that seems to work other than having multiple long conversations with someone after I build trust with them in some other way. Usually I just try to do something for them first, something they actually need done and can’t do themselves. I don’t ask for anything in return and just say some shit like, “community is more important to me than money”. Next thing you know I’m in their kitchen and they’re giving me food. From there it’s just a matter of time until I get my commie hooks in them.
