Mulaney then shared an anecdote about how he and his son, who is nearly 3, like to play baseball in their front yard.
“We’re just two guys hitting Wiffle balls badly and yelling ‘Good job’ at each other,” he said. “It’s sort of the same energy here at Dreamforce.”
LOL
“If AI is truly smarter than us and tells us that [humans] should die, then I think we should die,” he said, looking out to the crowd from center stage. “So many of you feel imminently replaceable.”
“You’re a VP of customer success?” he asked another attendee. “Congratulations on your position that did not exist five years ago!”
Is all of his comedy this amazing? Because I’m going to have to start watching his specials.
It’s good. His older stuff is “more friendly” or whatever, but I still enjoyed it. After his rehab stint, he has been more like this. His kids shows are goodish, but a different flavor than roasting tech bros.
Sounds like I should watch post-rehab then. He’s very Carlin-like in his willingness to speak truth to power while being funny and I like it.
If he took on that mantle the world would be a better place.
Carlin would have a fucking field day with modern reality
I love Mulaney but I couldn’t get into that post rehab special. His energy was just really different, it just wasn’t as dynamic and energetic as his older stuff (which is totally understandable), but I never finished it so maybe I’m full of shit
Well there’s an obvious reason for his higher energy before he went to rehab…
He’s good, no matter what year his jokes were. Here’s a classic:
This was already good but reading in there that this is Olivia Munn’s husband makes this complete.
Olivia Munn was a huge tech advocate/personality back in the TechTV and G4TV days.
One of the first times I saw her it was a Linux segment on TechTV in the early 00’s as an example.
Does anyone have a video of his roast?
