Maybe he did great things for New York’s bedbug population?

Recently one of the defenses he used to distance himself from the investigation into his associates was that he was a cop and therefore knows how to follow the law

Don’t they all retire after like 20 years anyway?

Not sure what it is now but at one point it was 20 years. So many live on Long Island so they gotta pay massive local taxes, property taxes, etc. After retiring they work large event and private security jobs like stadium securty. It used to be only cops. Don’t know now. They also do no show city jobs which is one of the things Adams was handing out.

Is that “well, well, well” intentional because it’s a dog whistle?

I don’t recognize it as a dogwhistle (not to say it isn’t, necessarily), it just echoes an old common structure from someone who felt jilted.

Oh, it’s absolutely a dog whistle. Maybe not commonly used everywhere, but I see it a lot in the comments on videos of black people. Sometimes it’ll be “well x 3” or something like that. I know it’s a phrase commonly used for a long time, but it seems like something The Onion would do
