A small but miserable side effect of the ongoing genocide in palestine is that it’s legitimized tankies.
Before the genocide tankies were bootlicking putin and supporting the invasion of ukraine. They were becoming increasing irrelevant and unpopular.
But the genocide has given tankies plenty of legitimate and reasonable talking points. That’s why they’re so much louder, more visible, more coherent, etc.
If empire wants tankies to go away, then it should stop acting so incredibly evil as to make tankies seem reasonable.

Hasan later asked Stein why she had labeled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a war criminal, but not Putin.
“Well, as John F. Kennedy said, we must not negotiate out of fear and we must not fear to negotiate,” she replied. “So, if you want to be an effective world leader, you don’t start by name-calling and hurling epithets.”
“So, how will President Stein negotiate with Israel then if you’ve called Netanyahu a war criminal?” Hasan asked in response.
“Well, because he very clearly is a war criminal,” Stein said, prompting Hasan to ask: “So Putin clearly isn’t a war criminal?”
“Well, we don’t have a decision—put it this way—by the International Criminal Court,” Stein said.
The ICC has issued an arrest warrant for Putin, alleging that he is responsible for war crimes. No such warrant has been issued for Netanyahu, whose war on Gaza has killed more than 40,000 Palestinians. However, the chief prosecutor of the ICC has applied for an arrest warrant for the Israeli prime minister.
Ranked Choice Voting (or ANYTHING with preference polling) would be vastly better than our current system. It would enable 3rd parties to thrive without being nearly the spoilers they are now.
Every voting system as it’s flaws and edge cases, but our current First Past the Post system is a trainwreck crushing the Republic by degrading into two majority parties (as it demonstrably always does) and then letting other countries and dark money prop up spoiler candidates to hurt their opponents.
We either fix our voting system or we eventually lose the Republic.
I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who wants to vote for Jill Stein.
“It’s directly Jill Steins fault. See look at how many votes ALL 3RD PARTY CANDIDATES COMBINED got!!! No please don’t talk about how the left combined took up a whopping 15% of the 3rd party vote. That libertarian party is like 85% of the 3rd party vote. Or that 40% of people able to vote simply don’t. Nope. Blame 0.31% of voters please and thank you.”
Instead of focusing on the thousands that are further left than you, maybe you should try to convince the millions that aren’t. But hey that would be far more democratic and wouldn’t be helpful to the status quo would it now…
