This store just opened up a few months back, and they had zero bike parking.

I emailed their head office, saying that I was planning to shop there, but not until they added a bike rack.

Went to check last night, and boom! Bike rack!

Actually, that’s a great idea. I was gonna ride my bike to grocery store, but lack of bike rack annoys me, so I was going to take my car. I’ve never had a bike stolen before, but I just got this new e-bike, so I’m kinda extra cautious.

But I am definitely going to write to their headquarters this morning and suggest a bike rack! Thank you, friend! :)

5 downvotes in 38 minutes, on an innocuous comment in a 9-day-old thread. 🤔

LOL, what did you do to piss off some chud so badly that he’s mass-downvoting you with no less than five sockpuppets?

Right? And it’ll probably keep going down! I have a small fun downvote brigade that follows me around! lmao

So the people in c/politics think I’m the #1 troll on all of Lemmy (I voted for socialist candidate in this year’s US election instead of Harris). A few of them sent me DM’s saying they’ll follow me around just to “keep an eye” on me.

They like to post stats of how many downvotes I get (which I just used and put in my profile anyway.)

If you’re really bored and want to see some of the comments about how much I suck and should be banned, you can start here: https://lemmy.world/comment/12929978

But seriously, it’s boring and basically it’s people thinking Lemmy should be one big echo chamber. I get called to be banned daily. Meh, I’m still here. :)

I interacted with you recently and you were nothing but a troll. After upsetting people you now seem surprised people lash back lol.

It’s not them being in an echo chamber, it’s retaliation for the way you treat people. Actions have consequences, please don’t act like you’re some innocent victim. Everyone can see your post history.

Isn’t that backwards?

Also even if it wasn’t, that’s a public footpath? That would be completely blocked by a bike going across it?

Either this is layers of stupid, or the original OP came on the Internet to tell lies.

The path ends right there. You cannot go around the corner. There is nothing, that is blocked.

Probably not bolted down and installed properly either. Which part of the US is this?

No, you stick your wheel between the parallel bars and you can lock the wheel and frame to the rack with a u-lock or chain.

I thought the wheel was supposed to sit between the two bars on the ground

That’s just the shadow of the vertical bars

You are correct.

No, it’s the right way around. The designers just did a bad job.

it’s always good to have bike racks, but installed like this would completely block the sidewalk when a bike is parked 😕

Edit: unless this is just a useless corner that just leads to the back of the store.

Remember to ask for an upside-down U rack.
