Best thing is to end the abusive relationship with Microsoft and Windows, remove their spyware/adware/bloatware from your computer and switch to GNU/Linux, a free and opensource operating system that actually respects users and theri basic human rights to privacy and freedom.

Preach.

What’s likely going to happen though, is a generation of school kids continue to use Chromebooks because that’s what they’ve been taught since grade one. And you know who is even more egregious in ignoring privacy than Microsoft? It’s a company whose name starts with a “G” and ends with “oogle”.

If anyone actually read this article, it only breaks if you use a script from a random YouTuber. You can disable it manually via settings and it does not break anything.

“Random YouTuber”

Chris Titus has been a leader in the IT field prior to YouTube for longer than you’ve probably been alive

His work in this case discovered that windows has made Recall a dependency for file explorer, and disabling it in windows is not the same as removing it from your system.

Yes. But back then, the consumer protections actually meant something, and the regulatory agencies weren’t defanged and neutered. Nowadays, giant corporations point and laugh at the fines and continue business as usual.
