I know that hating Tesla is very “in” but specifying the name of the car adds no value to this article.

Well, considering that Tesla has covered up incidences of problems and crashes, I think the public should know every time a Tesla is in a crash - whether it was caused by the driver or not.

More importantly, they’ve covered up thousands of cases of “sudden acceleration”.

BTW, the National Highway Traffic Safety Admin in the US is investigating a slew of recent crashes caused by Tesla’s autopilot.

For all we know, a malfunction resulted in the death of 4 people here. Either way, the car’s maker should be named, since these are not safe vehicles.

It’s a bit relevant… at least the fact that Teslas are electric cars. The car caught fire while people were inside, which was likely made worse by the battery. It’s not a big leap to make from reading the headline, since batteries are infamous for catching fire

I don’t think the fire had anything to do with their deaths from the sound of the article. The rescue team pulled the survivor of the car so the occupied space seems it might have been ok. I’m guessing a lack of seatbelts being used when they hit the concrete wall.

Many electric cars can accelerate incredibly fast compared to combustion vehicles.

Was acceleration the cause? Didn’t look like it to me.

High-rate of speed causing the driver to lose control… which sounds awfully familiar with the " sudden unintended acceleration problems" that Tesla has been covering up for years.
