Not so fast! Korea’s legislature stopped the president. Trump’s royal bumlickers in congress will allow the United States to get to full fascism first.
USA! USA! USA!
From what I’ve read, isn’t the president trying to stop the fascism from the NK sympathizers?
He’s already “joking” about a 3rd term.
Thing is, this clown doesn’t joke.
My current conspiracy theory is that he is gonna get assassinated by the “”“far left”“” (aka totally not the Republican party), which will trigger a full fascist takeover. He’s too old for me to imagine him being able to make it through a full second term, and too unpredictable for Republican politicians to actually want him to be around; so the ideal situation would be to have him publicly assassinated and use that to drum up support for massive surveillance and restrictions on personal freedom.
His dad lived to 93 and his mum until 88. He might be with us for another couple of decades
He has 2 options.
First is the obvious saying that there’s nothing stopping him from running for a 3rd term, and once again using Jim Crow era vote suppression and other slimy tricks to win again.
The second option is to just declare that presidency is a for-life position. He can do that, after all.
And he’s making that last part perfectly clear. He is above the law. There are no consequences for him breaking the law, and nothing stopping him from doing whatever he wants. The people who could are so polite that if words won’t stop him, they say more words at him. That’ll do it!
First is the obvious saying that there’s nothing stopping him from running for a 3rd term
The 22nd Amendment does. And it would take 38 states to vote to change that.
Isn’t there something about insurrectionists not being allowed to be president?
We’re about to allow an insurrectionist to be president.
Pretty sure no silly little written amendment on a piece of parchment will stop him. They sure haven’t before. Those rules only apply when HE wants them to.
There’s no way. I think he’s legit too old, and he only needs 1 term to pardon himself and everyone he wants.
Sorry man nothing in the constitution says you can’t run for president on life support /s
For those out of the loop: What is going on in South Korea? Asking for a friend.
Are the pro-NK folks in the room with us now?
Seriously, are there really pro-NK supporters in SK? That seems ridiculous. Does that guy just really want to start a war with NK or smth?
In my complete lack of knowledge of SK politics it appears to be an unpopular president accused of corruption trying to stay in power to avoid… The said corruption chargers
Seriously, are there really pro-NK supporters in SK?
I’m definitely not saying it’s a common thing at all but US and western media really, super play up the image of the DPRK and the tension on the peninsula.
And also see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_Party_(South_Korea,_2017)
They ran Kim Jae-Yeon for president. She once said:
On 4 June 2012 during an interview with KBS, the emcee asked her to confirm her view towards North Korea. She answered, “If a person does not want to recognise North Korean regime, it means that he/she wants a war with them”. When the emcee also asked about what if North Korea attacks the South, she replied, “Still, we should not fight back.”
She received 37 thousand votes. Not a lot, but they do exist.
Any more left than them tend to get banned under “National Security” laws.
Yes, there are Communist supporters of the DPRK in ROK, but that’s not what’s at play here. President Yoon, the Incel King, is accusing the liberals opposing him in Parliament of being Communist sympathizers. Yoon himself has been saber rattling against the DPRK as well, but that again is not the crux of the situation here.
Seriously, are there really pro-NK supporters in SK?
They have been separated from their families by a military occupation from people thousands of miles away who drew an arbitrary border and put them under a dictatorship with the most brutal fascists the local population could produce.
Last government talked about reunification the same way US talks about a 2 state solution in Israel. He talked about this without occupying US approval as a long term goal. Yoon is full US puppet that wants war. Logic is similar to everyone who thinks a war on Russia is a bad idea can only be paid by Putin.
Other comments touched on it, but it makes more sense to look at them as pro reunification rather than pro NK. They’re still nutty, but not quite as nutty as being pro NK. This is the same group desperately trying to downplay NK involvement in Russias invasion of Ukraine because calling it what it is might damage chances at reunification.
More like …
Didn’t I hear about him getting a list of military folks who he wants to replace with those loyal to him.
That could be interpreted to mean that he started talking about it first.
