Summary
Representative Nancy Mace claimed to have been assaulted by James McIntyre, a transgender rights advocate, at a foster youth event.
However, eyewitnesses report that McIntyre merely shook Mace’s hand and discussed transgender youth support, leading to his arrest and charges of assaulting a government official.
This incident raises concerns about the safety of expressing opinions on Capitol Hill and the potential for misrepresentation of interactions.
Nancy Mace is a cont…cont…cont…continuing source of inspiration.
Mace actually sort of fascinates me.
Her hateful bigot piece of shit act is a bit too over-the-top, and I just don’t entirely buy it. I keep thinking at least some part of it is that she’s actually more of a greedy unethical piece of shit, and has figured out that hateful bigoted piece of shit is a profitable role to play, and she’s playing it to the hilt.
Not that it matters - she’s a piece of shit either way. It’s just an idea that wanders through my mind, a bit more solidly every time, whenever she sleazes her way into the headlines.
Reading the article made me think of the scene in “Caddyshack” when Rodney Dangerfield’s character claimed to have a broken arm after being struck by a ball.
The sad thing about this is it’s our own fault. The inability or unwillingness to call a lie a lie and a liar a liar has gotten us to this point.
We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

It sounds like a typical Republican trying to be a martyr. Hopefully there are enough witnesses to get these charges dropped or for him to be found innocent. On another note have we really reached the point where the word trans can’t be published?
have we really reached the point where the word trans can’t be published?
I think that’s her in her own tweet. Republicans are trying to train the masses to see “trans” as a dirty word. It’s part of the fascist program of dehumanizing their chosen victims. We know where they want this to go, and we have to be ready to fight it.
I think it’s important that not only are charges dropped, but she should get some push back or fine for wrongfully charges ( I’m assuming it is illegal to claim someone assaulted you when it’s obvious they did not - and I’m not a lawyer or American, so I’m sure there’s a better name for it…)

So this is what they have in store for anyone who questions their persecution of trans people. Arrested and charged with assault. We need a real mass movement in support of trans rights and healthcare. This cannot be made easy for them.
Man, like when Giuliani was “attacked” when he was patted on the back, yet somehow worse.
