Well, it helped me get married.
My wife and I met online. We played games together, but lived in different parts of the country (US). Far enough apart that it wasn’t a sunday drive, you dig?
So the early part was all virtual. Skype or other video services, texting, and that was what we had.
Unbeknownst to her, I used to do custom fiction. Specifically erotica, though I did other kinds as well.
So, our sexy texts were unusually detailed and very customized. So were other forms of written communication. I actually have it all collected into a book that turns it into one long story, as well as copies of the originals. And no, I don’t share it. It’s hers.
By the time we met in person there was a significant amount of tension built up.
Part of what made her willing to risk travelling to meet some guy halfway across the country was the fact that I put in that effort. She figured that even if it didn’t work out, the sex was going to be good at least once, and she didn’t really believe that anyone who could write what I did could be entirely bad.
It wasn’t all sex scenes though. It was ramped up romance in a lot of the non sms segments. It’s honestly the only romance I’ve ever written, and the mostly completed book form (I’m still editing and tweaking) is one of the best things I’ve ever written.
I have never done it because of the fear of where it might wind up
Getting random sexts is awkward especially when your not expecting it. Embarrassing to open them in public or with other people around
Best would when I was long distance with the wife, we’d sext all day long, then play with connected toys in the evening to release it all, fantastic.
Worst would be receiving a notification with the beginning of a somewhat detailed sext while showing a video to my grandma
