why post an insubstantiated claim instead of just screenshotting the grok response? I want to believe this but it seems completely made up
What more does the Grok response provide? The response itself is made up. Ask the LLM the same question 5 times and you will get 5 different answers.
It provides evidence of the claim.
I understand that a simple first-hand account doesn’t require evidence, but this isn’t even that. The post doesn’t say “I asked Grok this and this is what it said”, it’s literally “people” who supposedly asked it and supposedly got answers like that. Who? How many? What kind of responses exactly?
It combines lack of evidence/sources with hearsay, like what even is information worth at that point.
We all saw the undeniable evidence that Twitter had suppressed anything not in line with the positions of the left. If “X” is now doing exactly the same thing regarding posts not conforming with positions of the right then it’s just more bullshit. What is the problem with treating every position equally? I understand censorship in regard to things like doxing, child porn, and calls for violence…but everything else should be allowed and let users decide for themselves. Haven’t we had enough of being “told” what to think.
We all saw the undeniable evidence that Twitter had suppressed anything not in line with the positions of the left.
The green line is (at least) the one you need.
We all saw the undeniable evidence that Twitter had suppressed anything not in line with the positions of the left.
Called out. Posts this:
Did you mean this… https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2021/oct/22/twitter-admits-bias-in-algorithm-for-rightwing-politicians-and-news-outlets
But apparently doesn’t read past the headline.
Home feed promotes rightwing tweets over those from the left, internal research finds
The research found that in six out of seven countries, apart from Germany, tweets from rightwing politicians received more amplification from the algorithm than those from the left; right-leaning news organisations were more amplified than those on the left; and generally politicians’ tweets were more amplified by an algorithmic timeline than by the chronological timeline.
According to a 27-page research document, Twitter found a “statistically significant difference favouring the political right wing” in all the countries except Germany. Under the research, a value of 0% meant tweets reached the same number of users on the algorithm-tailored timeline as on its chronological counterpart, whereas a value of 100% meant tweets achieved double the reach. On this basis, the most powerful discrepancy between right and left was in Canada (Liberals 43%; Conservatives 167%), followed by the UK (Labour 112%; Conservatives 176%). Even excluding top government officials, the results were similar, the document said.
“Hey guys, I think vaccines cause autism but THE LEFT won’t let me spread my bullshit online!
Isn’t that the same thing as platforming actual Nazis???”
You totally missed the point. If someone posted that and if you were capable of thinking for yourself you would research it on your own. And you would then be able to post a link supporting your position. Do you want to possibly change the position of the person and others in the same mind set making the original post or do you just want to censor them. Censorship is what causes the divide. Both sides of an issue being posted causes people to think and hopefully come together.
“Research it on my own”? By doing what? Running clinical trials? We have experts as a society for a reason.
You’re probably the kind of person who thinks it’s a massive government overreach that you’re forced to wear a seatbelt.
I bet Grok doesn’t even have a clue about Twitter policies and is just making shit up
Grok is a laughing stock in LLM world.
-
It’s worse than Gemini, Claude, so… why use it over API?
-
It’s not open source or even open weights. Elon is straight up lying when he claims it is.
-
It’s more expensive and generally more censored than great open weights models. Its even straight up worse than the remarkable Deepseek v3.
-
It has no niche. It’s not long context, it’s slopped from training on other models, it’s not fast, it has seemingly no architectural advantages (not that they publish anything about it,) it’s not particularly good at prose or code completion or answering grounded in facts (hence the subject of the OP) or anything.
-
Elon has one of the most inefficiently used H100 hoards on the planet, while other labs are making good models without being billionaires or scorching the Earth.
-
Elon is an asshole, and I don’t want anything to do with him.
-
Even for “business use,” simply associating with X makes you radioactive.
The only ostensible reason I can think of to use Grok is ignorance, or to lick the boots of Musk/Trump. It’s not good, it’s not ‘based,’ it’s just a shitty, expensive product hyped to the moon and “better some day.” Surprise, surprise…
Anyway, the point is Elon doesn’t care if Grok makes him look bad. Reality is irrelevant, he can hype the snot out of it and have hordes come running to bow in deference.
Exactly, I don’t know why people haven’t understood that yet, Grok is just another LLM, it doesn’t know shit, it doesn’t understand shit, it just regurgitates words from the data it’s been trained on and it certainly isn’t an insider at Shitter.
Stop asking Grok what the fuck Elon is doing
IT
DOESN’T
KNOW
The point is that LLMs are naturally biased but they’re also explicitly biased by the people training them. Knowing what biases are being programmed into these LLMs by their owners is a glimpse into their agenda.
If you want to read more on the subject these are referred to as “system prompts” and you can read about various “system prompt leaks” that can include such things as explicitly right wing walking points.
Grok may very well have such nuggets in its system prompt.
Shocked, shocked I am.
Okay I did the funny quote, where’s my winnings?
This is not even a surprise. It’s exactly what I expected in fact. Just don’t use X/Twitter/whatever we call it this week. Just don’t use it, delete your account. It’s literally a platform for Musk and the people that think like him now. Even taking part is validating him right now.
