I don’t doubt that he was capable of such a thing but I have no recollection of that from the history I’ve read and a search online and skim of his Wikipedia page isn’t providing anything to back that up either. Do you have a source or specifics I can search up to confirm your claim?
Wikipedia is just full of arrests and deaths, not pardons.
It makes it easier to convince friends of the Trump/Hitler parallels if I can back it up with sources.

The first concentration camp was opened that afternoon, in an old brewery near the town center of Oranienburg, just north of Berlin. The following day, the first group of detainees arrived at another concentration camp, in an abandoned munition plant outside the Bavarian town of Dachau.
Don’t forget they are not being released in isolation. They have existing networks and just proved their loyalty to the cause.

It is very important to make sure we all include this central fact whenever we speak about the issue, as a general note. It should be repeated so much that people hear it in their heads as an echo whenever they think about the subject, because it is the truth.
