good morning! what do you plan to do today?

I’m a welding apprentice and I just started aluminum MIG yesterday. Today will be continued practive. After work, assuming I’m not entirely exhausted, I’ll be working on writing a D&D campaign for my players.

I’ve accepted that I will never be able to have the focus to write another campaign again because ADD, but I have a DM file with dozens of NPCs, plot hooks, and locations to add color to a campaign. Let me know if you want anything to drop in

Thanks, but I have thr same thing. ChatGPT can be a wonderful tool if used correctly.

I have a d100 list for diseases, curses, mundane magic items, cursed magic items, NPCs, random encounters, and so on.

Whenever my players stray off the campaign, I have plenty to continue the game seamlessly.

If the roads are okay to drive, definitely going out for a hike today. It keeps me sane

I wouldn’t last long if I tried for a daily regimen, I’d fail so hard by maybe Saturday of week 1

For me, it’s 1-2 times a week for 3-6 mile day hikes. Gives me something to look forward to later which is important because it’s mildly addictive to get out and away from concrete and people. I savor it more when structured like that and it’s easier to keep the habit going.

Not to say one habit is better or whatever. But maybe if daily isn’t sustainable for you, mix it up

Most places you can hike aren’t open when I’m awake due to a sleep disorder (I’m only awake at night), so for me small daily walks work best. I don’t have very far I can go unless I wanna drive somewhere like a closed shopping center, so I usually walk 15-45 minutes (one loop around my complex is 15min, usually I do one or two loops)

For me the benefit is less getting away from other people, my sleep schedule is very isolating so I have plenty of alone time 😅. But it’s good to get out of my head and move my body for a while :)

I’m gunna finish this coffee, feed the cats and then spend all day in my CNC workshop finishing up a big project, a really kickass frame for an old autographed TOOL album, Opiate, I’ve been meaning to frame for over 13 years. I might even fire up the smoker and make some ribs. Wife is out of town on a business trip so I’ll prolly drink a bunch of beer, fire up some of that sticky-icky, and go through a bunch of my favorite early 90’s G-funk albums.

Share a story, ask a question, or start a conversation about (almost) anything you desire. Maybe you’ll make some friends in the process.

RULES (updated 01/22/25)

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won’t be punished for trying.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There’s a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it’s vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a “controversial” message for it to be allowed.
  4. Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
  5. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a “spammy” message must be applicable to four purple answers before it’s allowed.
  6. Respect privacy as well as truth: Don’t ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it “would be a copyright violation if the info was art” as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar’s Number) or less, it’s considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.
