It sure looks cozy. But we are adults and this is the reality we live our actual life’s in. We need to take part in it.
Maybe screens really are the opiate of the masses, watching stuff happening, like some sort of half-life.
Unexpected uses for septic tanks!
I want to live in the gas station underground things so bad. Imagine having a scateboard in there
Aww hell yeah. If I won the lottery, I’d be very tempted to add a small, hidden underground bunker to the house I’d buy. Not for prepper reasons or anything like that, just because it’d be so cool to have.
In my youth I worked on renovating residences. There were some houses in old town (west coast usa) built in the 1890s I worked on. While trenching for a sprinkler system in the back yard we located a buried roof structure.
Turns out the house used to be an illegal speakeasy during prohibition. A whole room had been excavated and built underground and accessed through a passageway hidden by a workbench in the garage.
So there’s precedent at least.
According to Nordic Mythology, the whole Earth will go up in flames at the end of time and all human will be killed except those hiding under the roots of the world-tree, Yggdrasil.
this seems nice, but please give them socks…

It is basically Twitter 2.0
why do they have instance names like on fedi?
I believe Bluesky is Fediverse compatible can interact with the Fediverse through an ActivityPub bridge. I am not familiar enough to know exactly how it works. That said, if you own a URL, you can set it as your username. For example, John Scalzi (the author) linked his account to his URL so now his username is @scalzi.com.
they are not decentralized, are they?
Not at the moment but the protocol allows for it IIRC.
EDIT: Corrected my incorrect amd misleading comment.
